Back in the late 1980's, when
we were taking our first steps
into creating websites, the
world wide web was a very
different world to what it
is now. PC's in the home were
only just beginning to
become popular.

Taking payments on the Internet, at that time was almost impossible.
In 1990, we had the idea of charging £1 for membership of a buying
and selling website but none of the high street banks were willing
to offer this payment service at any price,
so the idea had to be scrapped.

History has shown that such an idea was a good one and Ebay
now stand in the position that we should have been in.

.......... and the banks

they are still making poor business decisions
based on nothing but risk - will they ever learn.

There is another way

Ebay and the like saw an opportunity to beat the banks
at their own game and launched their own version.
